Mark Corbett was raised on an acreage outside of Calgary and loved riding horses, biking, building forts, and camping. Mark started skiing at the age of 3 at Lake Louise and raced until the age of 17. Mark’s upbringing fueled his passion for the mountains, seeking new adventures, travelling and being outdoors. He was never one to sit still or be idle in life – he was always pursuing something or planning his next adventure.

Mark attended Selkirk College in Nelson and graduated in 2002 with a diploma in Ski Resort Operations & Management. In 2006, Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations from the University of Calgary while working for the Rapattack program with the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS). Mark started ski guiding at Last Frontier Heli-Skiing in 2013. He obtained his Association of Canadian Mountain Guides Ski Guide certification in 2017 and became a lead guide. He also spent numerous weeks each winter guiding at various ski touring lodges in the backcountry of BC. Mark dedicated 17 years of service to Rapattack, primarily as a Helicopter Operations Technician. He recently accepted a new position with BCWS as a Wildfire Technician, a challenge he was looking forward to.

Mark met the love of his life, Veda, in 2013 while working on a new trail build for the Shuswap Trail Alliance. Mark devoted himself to help raise Veda’s two sons, Forest and Noah, and together they created memorable life experiences through their mutual love for nature and adventure.
